 Humanity's Team

Humanity’s Team, founded by Neale Donald Walsch, author of the Conversations With God series, is a nonprofit, global grassroots spiritual movement whose purpose is to communicate and implement the belief that we are all one, one with God and one with life, in a shared global state of being, so that the behavior of humanity may shift to reflect this understanding. This grass-roots movement of the soul was also in response to Neale’s books. People read this material, as well as other well-known authors on the subject of spiritual growth and wanted to join hands to do something. The time had come for us to stop hiding out in our own little corners of the world, reading wonder-filled books on spirituality and come together as one, the Divine beings that we are, and change the world. And we are doing it, one by one, by one. We are the change we want to see in the world as one of our greatest teacher/leaders beautifully stated so many years ago.

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”-Gandhi.

At this time in our human evolution, we are given the opportunity to speak out and declare a greater awareness of our greatest vision of who we really are, the person we were and have always meant to be when we were born. We arrived here knowing the depth of who we really are, our oneness with God/Goddess, and with all of humanity. As our thinking changes about ourselves and our relationships with each other as one, so does our behavior in terms of how we respond to one another. Harming another becomes unthinkable. We are in this together and together we will change how we respond to one another when a perceived hurt has occurred or on a grander scale, when there is an act of violence that kills or hurts many. This understanding of our oneness was so evident last October when someone went into the Amish community and killed 6 girls and then killed himself. Members of this community came together to offer support and prayers for the families whose children had been murdered. But, they went ever further and responded immediately with forgiveness of the man who committed this act. They offered prayers to the family of this man. They know well and demonstrated the highest spiritual ideals. Neale Donald Walsch stated in a blog, “In the midst of enormous tragedy and unspeakable loss, the elders of this community said, do not think evil of the school killer. Do not hate those who attack you. Grant them forgiveness, and look with compassion upon their troubled mind.” The response of the Amish people, I believe was a great lesson in forgiveness and compassion.

We are in this time coming into consciousness of our innate Divinity and with that knowing we are creating a paradigm shift in our understanding of our global community. Throughout the world there is an awakening, a wave of energy that is igniting a passion and a yearning to understand our true nature and to begin to take responsibility for our lives, our relationships to each other, and to God, herself. There are grass roots movements sprouting up all over the world and growing and they are sending out the same “oneness” message. That message is, “we are all one!”. In addition to the Amish community, we have only to look at the many tragedies, both human made and natural disasters that have occurred since 9/11. We have watched these events unfold and as a global community became instantly one. We collectively felt an inner truth that to react to violence with greater violence does not work, and many have been expressing this truth working to call an end to the war that was created in order to have someone to blame. War and hate only breeds more of the same and it causes the illusion of an us and them, good and bad, right and wrong which serves to create greater separation between all people. Separation from each other and separation from God, the Goddess, Spirit, Allah, by whatever name we would call that higher energy, the source of the soul, is an illusion. The vibration of energy that is at this time moving across our planet is a wave of gratitude, of grace, of acceptance, of love, of joy and abundance for all, and of the Oneness that is sparking our planet and igniting our compassion for humanity.

Humanity’s Team is a New Spirituality that seeks inclusion. It seeks to bring people together in a unified, soulful quest of the beauty of humanity. Our purpose is not to create a new religion, but to create a new view of the religions we now have and to find the golden thread of truth that glides through all religions. We need not reject or abandon our present spiritual beliefs, but expand upon them to include extraordinary new possibilities. The greatest possibility is Peace on Earth for all. The core belief in the New Spirituality in Humanity’s Team is that, “WE ARE ALL ONE” in joy, love, abundance and peace, with each other and with God. The golden thread of truth in all religions is Love. In fact, God, Love, and Life are interchangeable. We are waking up to a greater wisdom. We are awakening to a new understanding of a God, as a being that lives within and as a part of who we are intrinsically. Many have awakened to a joyful wisdom that as a world community we are responsible for each other and for saving this beautiful planet, called Earth.

Humanity’s Team is active in 94 countries and at last count there are over 10,000 members and our community is growing everyday. In Maine, there are about 90 members of Humanity’s Team, people who have shown an interest in creating community around the core beliefs of the New Spirituality of HT and working with the five steps to peace. When I stepped up to volunteer as the Maine State Coordinator of Humanity’s Team, I made a commitment to connect the people of Maine who would wish to come together to study this new way of viewing spirituality. To support one another as we work on increasing our awareness of who we really are and then making a commitment to make a declaration of that experience. I am very committed in helping Maine citizens to come together so that we can learn together, change together, and work together in our understanding of how we can make a difference on a global scale. However, one does not have to join Humanity’s Team in order to create a book study group or a New Spirituality study group. This message goes out to all who wish to make a difference and to continue learning about the Spirit that is within us all.

Five Steps to Peace

  1. Acknowledge that some of our old beliefs about God and about Life are no longer working.
  2. Acknowledge that there is something we do not understand about God and about Life, the understanding of which will change everything.
  3. Be willing for a new understanding of God and Life to now be brought forth, an understanding that could produce a new way of life on the earth.
  4. Be courageous enough to explore and examine this new understanding, and, if it aligns with your inner truth and knowing, to enlarge your belief system to include it.
  5. Live your life as demonstrations of your highest and grandest beliefs, rather than as denials of them.
