As Above, So Below... by Maya White

Aries – (March 20 – April 19)

Great things are coming your way, Aries. Remain steadfast and you will be rewarded by early summer. 2010 is the year that Jupiter and Uranus join forces at the beginning of your sign in June. The way astrology works is that until then, you are being kept ‘undercover,’ a frustrating term for things not moving ahead as you would like them to. Even Mars, your planetary ruler is retrograde until March 10th! If everything feels backwards and upside down, just be patient; because, your career has potential to take off like a rocket once you are let out of the cage.

Keep this most important factor in mind over the next few months. You CAN get what you want, so make your plans now and set yourself up for fulfillment of your most positive dreams. This is a time of faith, Aries; faith and laying your foundation. You are also learning to be responsive to those people who have, and will continue to love and support you. Another part of this lesson in patience is learning to show appreciation to partners; both personal and professional. In the meantime, focus on the arts and development of your joy in life. You can nurture lasting connections on the 7th which bear a financial reward by the 8th and 9th. Opportunity knocks on the 11th, and again on the 22nd.

Taurus – (April 20 – May 20)

You are the ultimate manifestor, Taurus. With your ruling planet Venus traveling through Capricorn until the 18th, it’s a great time to work on creating a new and beautiful image. Use the first half of this month to define what you want your new era to look and feel; and the Universe will quickly set the wheels in motion.

The powerful Solar Eclipse of January 15th shows up with your planetary ruler Venus in the same degree. What this does over the long term, is change your perspective. Also, it is a sure indicator that your life will undergo some dramatic changes in the next 6 months. The arena of change is in 9th house affairs; travel, spirituality, education, and law. Take a look at how these interests have perhaps already begun to enter into your life.

Monday the 4th when Sun joins Mercury is the day to pick up pen and paper and write your vision into form. Then, reevaluate on Tuesday the 5th when Mercury and Venus are conjunct; you will get some new and improved ideas. Remember to think big – that is also part of the 9th house energy. Maintain your hold in the overview and stay with the big picture.

Gemini – (May 21 – June 20)

The Solar Eclipse of January 14/15 falls in your 8th house of hidden talents, transformation and sometimes other-worldly issues. The 8th house also rules joint resources, taxes, insurances, mortgages, and inheritances. Pay attention to whisperings from the Universe which prepares you for the year ahead. Nagging ghosts are gone, (or at least have taken a vacation) and all you really need to do is buckle down and get to work. Not always easy, I know!

This is a year for you to blossom; so think of your life as though you are planting a garden. The right seeds along with proper growing conditions will yield a bountiful harvest. Your ruling planet Mercury stations into direct motion on the 15th. Remain cognizant of the retrograde rules until that date – try not to sign on contracts, be patient with mechanical and electronic breakdowns, and remember that you may have to deal with misunderstandings.

You are also due for career advancement when Jupiter enters Pisces on the 17th. The best day to ask for more money is Thursday the 17th. Avoid conflict on the 26th, and count your blessings on the 29th.

Cancer – (June 21 – July 21)

Partnerships will be in focus for the New Year, Cancer. But you may be surprised at whom and what comes your way. This looks like a classic example of kissing a frog that turns into a glamorous prince or princess. Now, who would have thought a green frog would reveal that he or she was indeed so amazingly beautiful? It makes you happy, and it feels good, too.

On the professional front, have you thought about stepping out of your comfort zone and taking on – say – giving or taking classes. If teaching, Jupiter’s entry into Pisces on the 17th brings a new dimension of discovery to your life. It is as though the Universe is saying ‘OK, enough of this dreary emotional baggage. You have carried a heavy load for long enough and now you are free.” Be alert to opportunities for both money and relationships on the 11th and 13th; best day to make strategic requests is the 21st; and your prayers are answered on the 29th.

Leo – (July 22 – August 22)

This month provides fertile ground for you to take stock of what did not work last year, and figure out how to fix it. What was that major problem:  relationship, money, productivity? Pick one and focus on finding a way to make it better.

Steadfast careful steps toward your goal do the job for 2010. Wonderfully, I think we all feel optimistic about this year ahead. With 10 being a number that relates to the goddess Fortuna, patron of chance and fortune, clarity and freedom are paramount to mental and physical health. This is also an area where you shine, Leo.

Fortuna will be out looking for you on the 11th as the Sun and Venus join forces. She asks for a commitment on the 21st, and rewards your loyalty on the 22nd. Relationships become interesting after the 18th. As the moon joins Mars in the late evening on the 29th , you are energized; just don’t overdo it because on Saturday, the cosmic tax collector pays a visit. The Full Moon of January 29th is in your sign, Leo. This is a time of personal reward and/or fulfillment. It’s your time to shine, don’t allow another to dim the light of your star.

Virgo – (August 23 – September 22)

Did you take action in the latter part of 2009 to resolve your problem? Good. Now you can move forward. One of the more important areas for growth as well as stabilization will be your finances. Saturn is demanding that you just grit your teeth and take it on. The WAY is revealed by the Solar Eclipse of the 14/15th – through activation of your 5th house; personal creativity and children. Some of you will undoubtedly give birth to an actual child; others will birth a child of your creative desires. Speculation and real estate investment also live in this house, as well as romantic affairs. Just remember that eclipses bring long lasting change into our lives.

Overall, my crystal ball shows a clear and bright new year for Virgo! Every day has sunshine with flowers; and you are healthy, free, and happy. Well, maybe it has to rain once in a while, but not much. Really, it’s a general stress unwind coming your way. It’s all about the degrees of the planets; sly Neptune and an invigorated Jupiter were provoking wild and crazy Uranus for far too long. Well, those days are over. With your planetary ruler Mercury moves into direct motion on the 15th and clears the shadow of its previous motion on February 3rd, January is more of a catch up month. Enjoy.

Libra – (September 23 – October 21)

Are you ready to be healed, body, mind, and soul, Libra? It’s a lovely concept, really. Often times healing is accompanied by crisis, but this time it’s not necessary. Surrender is your watchword. If it hurts, let ‘IT’ go, if it feels good, let it in. This is so much about your body-mind connection. Any flaws or missing links will be unveiled for correction. As you get really intimate with yourself, I think you will be pleased with what you find.

Other than self analysis, much of what you take on this month yields only frustration. This is a great time for planning; however with Mars and Saturn retrograde, (plus Mercury until the 15th) some things will just have to wait. Your life is like a puzzle that has been missing some pieces. The good news is that the pieces have already been found, you just have to put them into place. Harvest some good times on the 8th; collect monies owed to you on the 11th, think strategically on the 21st, and seek good investment advice on the 23rd.

Scorpio – (October 22 – November 21)

Scorpio usually paints in vibrant colors and with broad strokes; however this time around you are wise to examine the details and take small concurrent steps. This month favors gaining control through consistency and mastery of your day to day flow. Take time now to set up systems that will make your life easier throughout the whole year. 2010 will present many opportunities.  Practice your ability to make the most of each one on the following dates: January 8 and 9, the 11th, the evening of the 22nd, the 23rd, and the 25th. If you can, lay low on the 31st. Saturn and Pluto play hardball again at the end of this month, and although you’d rather not get involved, you may have to.

If you did not get out to socialize as much as you wanted to last year, be advised that networking and meeting people from all walks of life is your key to success for 2010. Keep things light, make them fun, and you will be so pleased to find that the tough stuff becomes easy. It’s critical that you learn new ways to communicate and express yourself. Think about taking a class that helps you develop a skill and earns money at the same time. And of course, you, above the rest, understand that one of the best ways to learn something well is to teach it. You are ready for that kind of a change, and the time is NOW!

Sagittarius – (November 22– December 20)

Sometimes we just have to choose, and I see yours as a sign that likes efficiency. You like freedom, but how much is too much? Questions like this keep coming up, Sag; and everybody in your world is looking to you for answers. This is a good month to sort out your mind. Think of it like cleaning out a closet; some things must be taken out forever, others just reorganized and put back into place. Use your gift of prophecy and take a look into your future. When Uranus and Jupiter meet in Aries next June 8th, you are going to be chomping at the bit.

Do you want freedom or exile, Sag? How about some flex time for personal creativity? Although it is perhaps not your preferred style, careful planning fills a need this month. As we move into the shift of 2012, manifestation becomes easy for you. It’s just the dark side of matter that still hangs us up sometimes. Isn’t it nice to know that good fortune is on your side? Lady luck calls your name on the 13th, but she slaps your hand on the 26th. Be nice and appreciate how often a roll of the dice lands in your favor.

Capricorn – (December 21 – January 19)

Like the settling weight of a 50 pound bag of potting soil, your life has shifted. Yet, the soil provides a fertile ground for flowers to grow. The world has not seen the last, or the least, of you. It’s as if you had been preparing for this month all along; and finally it has arrived. With a stellium of planets in Capricorn, (Venus, Mercury, Pluto, and the North Node in addition to the Sun and Moon) your life will be changed by the eclipse on the 14/15th. Solar eclipses trigger events which initiate change. Now, since there isn’t a darn thing you can really fix, let go and let God.

Figure out NOW what you want your career to look like in September, Capricorn. This is essential in order to reap the fruits of your many years of labor. Saturn seems to be pressing on you, but in actuality, he moves into retrograde motion on 13th. This gives you some flex time to prepare for the harvest of dignity which is your reward for competence. Step delicately through a show down of commitment versus containment on the 20th and 21st; if you handle things with finesse you will get just what you want by the 25th.

Aquarius – (January 20 – February 17)

Waiting patiently is often frustrating, Aquarius, but this is your best option now. There is a sense of dissatisfaction regarding that which you cannot see clearly. With the planet Neptune in your sign until 2011, slow change becomes tedious; days become weeks and then months as we watch what used to be the rocks our lives dissolve into sand. The Solar Eclipse of January 14/15 will eventually shift things into motion, but it may take a few months. Maintain integrity and crystal clear communications, but also ask twice to get one good answer.

Of course, the best news of 2010 is that our expanding benefactor Jupiter moves into your 2nd solar house of money on the 17th! Hooray. Garner your vision and inspiration for new growth and prosperity. Venus also enters your sign on the 18th; celebrate with neon colors and a night on the town. Long lasting connections are made on the 21st which is a great day for networking events or other public meetings. Relationship answers arrive on the 29th with the Leo Full Moon; ask and you shall receive.

Pisces – (February 18 – March 19)

The true nature of a peaceful existence is being able to go with the flow, not stop it. Sometimes that is easier said than done. It would seem that finding calm in the midst of ongoing storms has become nectar of the gods. The problem lies with your ruling planet. Having Neptune in Aquarius is like chasing your tail. You rarely catch ‘it,’ but you can always feel dragging in the rear. The good news is that Jupiter moves ahead to spell relief – after the 17th.

Saturn and Pluto also dish up a conflict between what you want, and what you can have on the 31st. Think of it as a healthy dose of what you thought you wanted and remember that things always work out for the best. The reign of authority though conflict and deception is coming to an end. You are ready for a time of emotional clarity and authenticity. The Full Moon of January 29th is in Leo, your solar 6th house. This is where we gather the tools and skills that garner a productive life. Take good care of yourself, Pisces, and figure out ways to get exactly what you want. The Universe wants it that way, too.
