Readers of last month’s column might realize that there is a small change in this issue’s headline: While writing this second part I decided to identify another principle instead of merging it into the existing structure. Here are all 7-core principles again: - The recognition that everything is energy,
- The harmony of Yin and Yang,
- The understanding of the seven layers of the universe,
- The laws of resonance and dissonance,
- The balance of acidity and alkalinity,
- The protection from energetic drains and
- The enhancement of chi within and around us.
4. Resonance and Dissonance: If we agree on the earlier statement that all matter consists of vibrations and energy, the question we are confronted with in Feng Shui is what finally that makes a house attractive. The answer simply is: resonance between the vibrational frequency of the house and the person who wants to live in it. Very typically, the first impression when looking at real estate is less determined by rational thinking than by emotions. We walk into a new place and immediately know if we like it or not. Why is that and how do we know? Our energy fields expand far beyond our physical form. Several layers of subtle aura fields surround us, the inner ones just inches beyond our outer layer of skin, others a few feet, some much further. Similar energetic bubbles encircle objects too, but usually in less layers. If everything is vibration, there is a constant merging of energies happening. Wherever we go, our personal fields meet those of other people, of other buildings and places. When beauty, art, peace and harmony are present we feel comfortable and are attracted towards them. When traumatic incidents happened in those places, our subtle system immediately detects that and we don’t feel well. This is one of the reasons the practice of clearing space is so important. Energetic fallout builds up similar to trash in a house if not taken out on a regular basis. Although invisible it is stored in walls and structures. Painting a room, for example, freezes existing energy patterns and anchors them, paint being a medium which changes its consistancy from liquid to solid within minutes. Here is a Feng Shui tip: Always perform a clearing of your space before painting a room or a house. Back to our real estate example: As soon as we enter the field of a house our energetic antennas unconsciously check out possible resonances and dissonances. The feedback comes in form of emotions. We feel well when our frequncy patterns match, and somehow restless, aggravated and stressed out if they don’t. “Resonance” in physics is described as a tendency of a system to oscillate at a certain frequency with a high amplitude. When two frequencies are tuned together in resonance they pull towards each other, producing a maximum common signal much higher than their individual waves. If we could only manage to attune ourselves with the strongest positive energies in the universe, love, joy and compassion, the resonance effect would carry us with it beyond our wildest dreams. Unfortunately this is not always easy. Dissonance, on the other hand, creates uneasiness, tension and stress, which is, as we will see further down, the real cause behind illness. I’m not just describing mental stress here, but all forms of stress, from physical stress on our body, to geopathic stress, to financial stress when our monetary requirements are inconsistent with our current income. Emotional stress at work, in our relationships, worries about the future etc., are highly destructive, although they are often only happening in our mind. Nevertheless they trigger our body to respond as if there is an actual emergency. Geopathic stress, a form of stress caused by dissonant earth patterns is so dangerous because it becomes increasingly troubling although less obvious over time. EMF’s (electro-magnetic frequencies) on the other hand are a man made version of extremely disruptive high frequencies causing the same damage by disturbing cellular balance and harmonious functioning. EMF stress is also difficult to recognize as there is very little information being presented to the public to alert us to the signs or dangers of radiation. 5. Acidity and Alkalinity:The acid-alkaline balance is essential in supporting basic health. Robert O. Young, a microbiologist and nutritionist, is one of the foremost researchers here in the USA who has been promoting “alkalizing” for many years. Using today’s video technology in combination with darkfield microscopy he can document what French scientists described in their research 150 years ago: a healthy blood cell can change its form to a harmful bacterium, depending on the pH of the cell environment. More than a century ago Antoine Bechamp called this pleomorphism (pleo = many, morphism = forms). Opposing Louis Pasteur and his currently accepted monomorphism/germ theory (‘’there is only one form possible, therefore if germs appear in our body they have to have entered from outside’’) he found through observation that bacteria can appear in the blood as the result of a change in blood pH. In order to survive in an incondusive environment a red blood cell will change into a bacterial rod. Bacteria can then be understood not so much as the cause of disease, but as a result of an imbalanced and overly acidic milieu. A simple example is a packaged loaf of bread beyond its expiration date that is growing mold. It is not an outside invader that has ruined the bread, but an incondusive environment for a healthy organism to endure. Dr. Young summarizes, that “there is one common problem behind all diseases: the over-acidification of the body.” The pH scale describes the amount of Hydrogen ions in a solution. The higher the concentration the more alkaline the substance. It takes about 20 parts of alkalinity to balance one part of acids. This shows how much effort the body needs to counterbalance an overly acidic lifestyle. While most foods are far too acidic in general (coffee around 4, sodas 3, alcohol 4 to 5, meat, sugar, dairy, etc.) our blood needs to maintain a pH balance within a very narrow range between 7.3 and 7.4. A 0.2 drop in blood pH constitutes a life or death situation.
However, it is not only food which makes us acidic: All forms of stress, worries, depression and anger make us sour (= acidic), as well as environmental stressors, such as geopathic earth patterns and EMF’s (electro magnetic fields) from electronics. It’s a wonder our bodies are able to balance the multiplicity of stressors as well as they do. Acid-alkaline balance is a valuable theory and the reason why in other parts of the world cellphones are considered a health risk the same way smoking is already today, and sodas will be in the future. In the next article, we will cover possible solutions.
