Joy and compassion easily extend from Robin, even as we completed a series of interviews by phone. She shared how her journey as a spiritual seeker became the foundation for creating a spirit-based livelihood, culminating in the work she does through her two business entities, Enlightened Professionals, LLC (EP-LLC) and The Enlightened Professional Center.

“For many years, while working in corporate operations and event management, I attended spiritual retreats and wellness workshops for personal growth and as a kind of hobby. It took a very long time to realize it was more than a hobby—it became a calling that culminated in my training at Oneness University in India. What I noticed, over the years of going to these programs, was a lack of business operations acumen in the delivery of services and programs that fall under this umbrella called holistic health.”

“It seemed to me that some very gifted people were struggling to earn a living doing what they felt spiritually called to do. I had the idea that I could help, that I could facilitate making holistic, spiritually based-workshops, events and services more accessible to a wider audience of people. Also, I believed I could make them more lucrative and logistically stable for the teachers, healers and service providers. I just did not have a clue what this entity would look like or how I could do it on my own.”

With 25-plus years of business experience in corporate operations and event management, Robin knew she possessed the necessary skills; in order to create what she envisioned she could offer to

professionals and the public, she had to allow herself to listen to and trust in a different kind of wisdom.

“Trusting my intuition was a starting point for me. Listening to the messages of spiritual guides evolved over time as I began to fully live and fully integrate what I learned from all those years journeying around the world to workshops. As scary as it felt, I allowed myself to follow Divine sources where they led—that’s where and how my businesses were—and still are—created.”

Programs at The Enlightened Professional Center strike a balance between Eastern and Western philosophies and traditions. You will encounter presenters from broad backgrounds and all parts of the world: spiritual healers from California to Peru, scientists who study human behavior and physiology, and metaphysical practitioners of every type. Spiritual Cinema offers audiences of up to 100 people the chance to view limited release independent films that deal with consciousness, health, human development, metaphysics, psychospiritual and cross-cultural topics.

   The Enlightened Professional Center was also created to provide multiple forums for individuals to attend and for holistic businesses and organizations to offer their workshops, events, and healing services to the public. The facility houses a gallery for large events, workshop rooms and a boardroom for formal meetings. Private office space and healing services rooms are available for rent. The professional staff includes marketing and event planners, and an audio-visual team.    Based on her experience, Robin pointed out two common, mistaken beliefs about enlightenment. First is the belief that one arrives at a state of enlightenment. The second is that, one must give-up living in the world, physically and materially, to experience enlightenment. She went on to share what she has learned from her spiritual journey… wisdom that grounds her in her life and in her work.

   “Enlightenment is an evolutionary process of mind, body and spirit wherein we realize that we are all one with the Divine Source. Enlightenment, for everyday people like you and me, really is a way of being and a way of living from which all of our actions, thoughts, choices… everything emanates. As each of us becomes more consciously connected to this Source and to one another we are able act in alignment with the flow of energy in the universe. Going with the flow will enable you to create greater peace in your life. Like a pebble in a pond, this inner peace will ripple outward to your friends and families; and further outward across your community, our country and the world. By improving our personal lives, we can create world peace—it has to start with the individual.”

   On some level, conscious or not, each one of us is seeking. Awareness of that which we are seeking is often the first step of the journey toward enlightenment. What else can we do to facilitate the process?

   “Small steps,” advised Robin. “Discover what allows you to enter a place of inner quiet and practice it regularly. This could be as simple as walking in the park or joining a meditation class. It is within the quiet space inside ourselves that we find answers to our questions and our problems. In the quiet, we are able to listen with our hearts and hear our spiritual source, however one defines that.”

   Robin also suggested that people honor their intuition, their gut feelings, more often: “If you visit the Enlightened Professionals website and a particular program really resonates with you, then plan to attend.”

   Indeed, there is not likely to be a thundering display of light flashing across the sky, out of which angels appear to hand you a set of instructions. Inner knowing, gut feelings, and synchronistic events are ways the Divine enlightens us. It is our job to pay attention.
